Popis: Waveform optimization is a technique that can be used to adjust any or all of the radar transmitter degrees of freedom (DoFs) based on observations of a dynamic environment caused by intentional and/or unintentional interference sources. These DoFs include but are not limited to pulse shape, pulse repetition frequency (PRF), bandwidth, and operating frequency. Waveform optimization techniques can potentially provide an additional tool to improve radar system performance in severe operating environments. This paper addresses the use of waveform optimization in radio frequency interference (RFI) environments, particularly in the situation where the RFI signal is partial band or is scattered into the radar receiver main beam by terrain (hot clutter).
