Popis: A series of experiments has been performed to study the transient response of a liquid injector to a transverse detonation wave. Using an optically accessible test article and a high speed camera, images were captured at 80,000 frames per second to reveal the dynamic nature of a water column’s response as a detonation wave traverses the injector orifice exit. High frequency pressure measurements were collected to be used as input for a one-dimensional lumped parameter computational model developed as a quick method of generating preliminary design parameters for an injector used in a pressure gain combustor.
