Popis: | Adenoid squamous-cell carcinoma is a rare variant of squamous-cell carcinoma. It is unreported in the dental literature. Fifteen cases from the files of the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology are analyzed. The results suggest that this entity occurs in an older age group (mean age, 56.1 years) and in persons of light complexion susceptible to solar damage. The tumor predominates in male patients (87 per cent), is found not infrequently on the upper lip (21 per cent), and, although a proclivity for recurrence is implied (38 per cent by history), the prognosis is excellent. |
