Popis: | The corrosion hindrance impact of Musa acuminata extract, a plant belonging to Acanthaceae family, has been observed on low carbon steel corrosion in 0.5 M H2SO4 by utilizing weight reduction estimations, potentiodynamic polarization estimations and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) procedures. The presence of this Vasicine, Vasicinone containing extract reduces the corrosion of low carbon steel in acidic medium. The best hindrance impact of Musa acuminata extract for low carbon steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 was observed at 500 mg/l utilizing electrochemical and weight reduction estimations. The adsorption of Musa acuminata extract on the surface of low carbon steel has been explored by utilizing AFM study, SEM study and absorption spectroscopic techniques. Because of the presence of hetero atoms in the extract, Musa acuminata extract is considered as a decent inhibitor. |
