Popis: | This article uses the current corona pandemic to discuss the importance of face-toface communication for the structural formation of modern society It argues that interactive communication takes many different forms and plays a much larger role in modern society than usually assumed in empiricism and in the theoretical literature Social systems do not always refer to physical bodies, even if they are present, meaning their role is often overemphasized Consequently, the article argues that reactions to the pandemic should be discussed in systemic terms Furthermore, it suggests that the consequences of the corona pandemic can shed light on the relationship between functional systems and organizations, as well as the importance of time and the risks of political decisions © Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht GmbH & Co KG, Gottingen 2020 |
