Popis: | Distinct differences in the dynamics of lipid metabolism, lipid peroxidation status, antioxidant activity of the blood system, and the content of middle molecular peptides were found in a study of a number of biochemical parameters in 858 men and 899 women aged 20–70 years. Simultaneous determination of the biological age of the subjects also revealed distinct gender differences, indicating a lower rate of aging in men, despite the likelihood of an earlier dyslipidemia and atherosclerosis as compared to women. These gender differences are supposed to be associated with both changes in the level of estrogen in women due to menopause and with features of stress on the body of male and female in different age periods. |
