Popis: Three essential factors can cause portal hypertension: (a) an increase in circulatory resistances (b) inefficiency of the compensatory collateral circulation, and (c) an increase of the portal vein flow. The most frequent cause, of course, is the increase of the intrahepatic resistances, which leads to a decrease in the hepatopetal portal flow.
