Popis: | In a wide-area mobile ALOHA network, the central receiver in the base station(s) must handle packets with large differences in received power due to propagation effects, such as Rayleigh fading and the near-far effect. Retransmissions of colliding packets result in relatively more traffic being offered to the channel by distant terminals. An integral transform of the probability density function for the received power proves to be a useful tool for analyzing the channel behavior. A smooth weighting function for the interfering traffic is introduced to calculate the spatial distribution of throughput traffic from a given distribution of offered traffic. Iterative numerical computing is applied for the inverse problem: to obtain the distribution of traffic to be offered (including any necessary retransmissions) that yields a prescribed throughput of packet traffic from a given distance. > |
