Popis: | Abrasion resistance is a vital property in variable applications of polymeric composites and especially considered as the main characteristic of polyamid (PA) fabrics. Here, to investigate the wear properties of PA6 nanocomposite fabrics, melt spun yarns were filled with different concentrations of Ag/SiO 2, TiO 2 , ZnO and their mixtures. The wear properties of weft knitted nanocomposite and pure fabrics, produced from the high speed spun multicomponent PA6 nanocomposite yarns, were investigated and compared with each other. It was found that the wear properties of nanocomposite fabrics change in parallel with their morphological and tensile properties. A novel hypothesis has been proposed for abrasion resistance mechanism of nanocomposites supported by SEM evidence. Structural stability of fabrics against UV irradiation has been also investigated. The wear resistance of composite fabrics containing nanoparticles increased considerably via a discovered UV-induced solid state nanocomposite interaction. Therefore, nanoparticles can play an important role in improving the nanocomposite wear resistance before and after being exposed to UV-rays. |
