Popis: | Specific problems in plant selection for the midwest vary widely because of large differences in climate, soils, and urbanization. A project was started in 1984 to identify and evaluate worthy landscape plants for use in Kansas and other areas of the midwest. As of 1991, 40 species and cultivars have been planted in six locations throughout Kansas. Data collected for four years include survival, height, stem diameter, foliage quality, and overall quality. The results of the first two completed segments of this study (1984 and 1985) are presented. |
