Popis: | The detection of unsaturated hydrocarbons, such as ethylene and propylene is significant in many different sensing areas. While ethylene appears to be an important tool in agricultural industries to controlled stimulation of fruits and vegetables’ ripening, propylene represents a hazardous air pollutant with a strong photochemical reactivity and potential impact on the environment, and human health. An enormous number of sensors for detection of these unsaturated hydrocarbons, based on different operating principles, are reported in the literature. This review provides an overview of significant electrochemical sensors for ethylene and propylene with an emphasis on the approaches to electrochemical monitoring, the electrochemical working principles, the electrochemical behavior, the development of sensing materials, and their comparison. |
