Polarized luminescence spectra of Tb3+in trigonal Na3[Tb(oxydiacetate)3] . 2NaClO4. 6H20

Popis: | Polarized axial and orthoaxial luminescence spectra in the 7 Fj (J=0–6)←5D4 transition regions of Tb3+ in single crystals of trigonal Na3[Tb(oxydiacetate)3] . 2NaCl04.6H20 are reported and analysed. Differential circular polarization (left-handed versus right-handed) is measured in the axial luminescence spectra of this chiral system, and differential linear polarization (σ versus π) is measured in the orthoaxial luminescence spectra. Measurements obtained between room temperature and ∼ 8 K show no spectroscopic evidence for structural changes in the samples down to 30 K. Energy level calculations and magnetic dipole and electric dipole transition intensity calculations are reported, and the results are compared with empirical observation.
