Popis: Many descriptions of solid-state structures begin with close packing of hard spheres in three dimensions. In traditional presentations, the three-dimensional structures are built up from two-dimensional sheets of close-packed spheres. This model focuses on the two-dimensional sheets, which are spontaneously formed from cereal pieces. The structure of the cereal rafts can be presented with an overhead projector.
