Popis: SYNOPSIS This paper considers that a mechanical model in complex rock mass must be determined by the size of the zone of the rock mass and it should be simple and can satisfy the main characteristics of heterogeneous rock mass. Three kinds of mechanical models based on elastoplastic and limit equilibrium theories and their applications in stability analysis concerning abutments of arch dams rock slopes and pressure tunnels considering the interaction between surrounding rock and the lining are described respectively.
