| Popis: | The symposium « 50 Years of Literary Production in the Democratic Republic of Congo » (ex-Zaire) is at the origin of this essay which moreover is part of an ambitious project of the Centre for the Study and Promotion of the Written Literature of Congo.The author proceeds on the basis that the written literature is both Congolese and francophone and he attempts to demonstrate its existence using three approaches :establishing its extent ;identifying when and under which conditions the French language literature started developing, the different stages of its development and what stimulated it, in view of the fact that French was not the language in which school children learned to read and write ;attempting a definition of a literary identity, national in essence. |
