Interaction between the spin chirality and the elastic torsion

Popis: The population asymmetry of the left-right helixes in the strain-free holmium is shown by polarised neutrons to be less than 6 × 10−5. The interaction between the spin chirality and the elastic torsion is demonstrated, which provides a possibility to control the chirality sense. A phenomenological form of this interaction is proposed and some consequences are discussed.
