Popis: | The paper is dedicated to gas hydrate fields and active underwater gas seeps found in the Sea of Okhotsk. The study of geological conditions of the generation and dissociation of gas hydrates and their relations with methane fluxes is of great importance both for the Sea of Okhotsk and for understanding these processes in the World Ocean. The paper reports data on the distribution of natural gases and associated gas hydrates in the Sea of Okhotsk. Geological conditions for the formation of anomalous fields of methane and other gas components (С2–С4, СО2) were studied, their sources were determined, and the influence of seismotectonic activation on the gas migration from deep horizons to the surface in the sedimentary basin of the Sea of Okhotsk was estimated. |
