Popis: | The long-range action of light on the mechanical properties (microhardness) of metals (photomechanical memory effect) takes place both in a single foil and in a stack of foils made of the same or different materials. The result of irradiation depends not only on the materials of foils in a stack but also on the presence of native oxide layers on each foil. Etching of the oxide layers and growth of the new ones, as well as interruptions in the exposure, lead to an increase in the effect of irradiation under the conditions studied. The possible mechanisms of the observed effects are discussed. |
