Disk clamping distortion and slider crown sensitivity induced flying height variation

Popis: The disk clamping distortion and slider crown sensitivity induced flying height (FH) variation is investigated. The experimental results which were measured with in situ method were compared with simulated numerical results. Both results indicate that the disk clamping distortion has significant influence on the FH variation. Crown sensitivity of the sliders is one of the factors that determine the amplitude of the FH variation. Higher crown sensitivity sliders exhibit greater FH variation.
