Popis: The effects of abiotic factors (temperature and photoperiod) on the embryogenesis of whitefish Coregonus lavaretus were experimentally studied. It was found that the developmental rate increases beginning from the stage of organogenesis (the beginning of the segmentation of mesoderm) at an increase in temperature and an increase in the frequency of the light effect. An idea of the leading role of the effects of the light factor on the duration of embryogenesis of coregonids is substantiated. A change in the rate of the embryonic and larval development of different fish species in relation to changes in the environmental abiotic conditions provides overlapping of the dates of passing of larvae to active feeding with the period of the highest food availability. Based on published data, possible mechanisms of a change in the developmental rate of fish are discussed: during the formation of the axial organs of an embryo, a proliferation of cells accompanied by an intense secretion of prenervous regulators (neurotransmitters) affecting morphogenetic processes takes place. A leading role of neuropeptides and their effects on the developmental rate and morphogenetic variation under the influence of temperature and light factors are suggested.
