This study is a follow-up study of Through the looking glass of Fujoshi: Object dominance perception of Indonesian Fujoshi from Djalal, Marpaung, & Dewi (in preparation). In this follow-up study, participants will be primed by asking them to read a story of Boys Love in the form of narration (text and visual). The same experiment will be employed to see whether there is a difference between individuals in a control condition (without priming) and those in the experimental group (with priming). We expect that the experimental group would show the similar tendency as the Fujoshi in the previous study. As in the previous study Djalal et al. (In preparation) found that Fujoshi judged objects that are located on the top, have access to penetrate, and as an agent as dominant objects (as in Seme characters in Boys Love stories), and consequently, had more correct answers compared to the Non-Fujoshi. In this study, we aimed to confirm that Fujoshi individuals developed their object dominance perception through the exposure of same-sex relationship stories that revolve around certain gender roles. |
