Popis: | A common theme in analysis of the federal welfare state is that it shares with its Anglo-American counterparts a “liberal-residualist” orientation. Federal social programs, however, are also based on processes of inter-regional redistribution that are centrally important for the legitimacy of the federal state apparatus and strongly resistant to the market-based logic of both liberal-residualism and neo-conservatism. As a result these processes have been crucial in contributing to the relatively lower and more inconsistent attack on the federal welfare state in Canada. |
