Popis: | The new, ferromagnetic perovskite type oxide LaMn1/2Rh1/2O3 has been synthesized by conventional ceramic techniques. Rietveld refinements from X-ray diffraction data confirm a slight GdFeO3-type distortion and a disordered cation arrangement on the B-sites. The space group is Pnma (No. 62) with lattice parameters a=5.582(2) A , b=7.845(3) A and c=5.553(2) A . DC magnetic measurements and hysteresis loops show ferromagnetic behavior at temperatures below 120 K. Due to domain effects divergences occur between zero-field-cooled and field-cooled magnetization curves at low fields. The anisotropy is investigated using AC techniques. Domains of short-range cationic order between MnII and RhIV lead to ferromagnetic properties. |
