Popis:	The root morphology of mandibular second molars were investigated by using panoramic radiograms which had been taken from Japan, China, Korea and Canada. The root forms were classified as A, B, C and D types, depending on its divergency. Type C and type D were regarded as a single root form. The frequency of single root is lower than previous reports which have been made by other investigators through observations of extracted teeth. The frequency of single root varied among different areas and races.
