Popis: In his textbook published toward the close of the nineteenth century Kaposi 1 described a complication of infantile eczema, not previously recorded, based on his observation of 10 patients with a "varicelliform eruption." His description has scarcely been improved on in the subsequent half century. Inasmuch as the disease is rare, even in childhood, we should like to report 2 cases in which the patients were adults. Both had chronic atopic dermatitis. REPORT OF CASES Case1.—A white physician aged 30 years had been seen repeatedly by members of the dermatologic staff since June 1939, because of atopic dermatitis (disseminated neurodermatitis) from which he had been suffering since infancy. Off and on there had been characteristic remissions and relapses. There was no history of hay fever, asthma, migraine or urticaria.
