Popis: This work describes the determination of sulfur in some nuts and dried fruits using a high-resolution continuum source electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometer (HR-CS ET AAS) and evaluating the two rotational molecular of carbon monosulfide (CS) at 257.959 nm and 258.056 nm simultaneously. Sulfur was determined in a tungsten coated graphite tube/platform at 257.959 nm and 258.056 nm simultaneously, using thiourea as a calibrant, Pd/citric acid as a modifier and applying a pyrolysis temperature of 800 °C and a vaporization temperature of 2200 °C. The calibration curve prepared from thiourea was linear up to 2500 ng of S. The limit of detection and characteristic mass of the method were 21.6 ng and 7.4 ng of S, respectively. The accuracy of the method was tested by analyzing certified reference spinach, milk powder, tea samples applying linear calibration technique prepared from thiourea aqueous standard. The results were in good agreement with the certified values.
