This article is a continuation of the work published recently (Colloids and Surfaces, 26 (1987) 351)). The objective of both these works are to formulate critical conditions for oil detachment. Thermodynamic consideration of the influence of surfactant(s) in a solution for degreasing of different solid surfaces has been performed in the present article. (Solubilization and kinetic effects were not considered.) Critial conditions for initiating of an oil detachment from smooth, homogeneous, isotropic and nondeformable solid surfaces have been established theoretically for surfactant containing liquid degreasers. General requirements for the composition of such degreasers (the selection of a surfactant and a solvent) for different soil/solid systems have been formulated. |
