Popis: Stator bars are one of the most important components of a hydrogenerator in view of that they are responsible to conduct the induced current by the machine rotor. The electrical insulation is one of the main causes of failure in the hydrogenerator, so it is necessary to study the behavior of this insulation under the operating conditions of a stator bar. Therefore, this article aim to develop an electromagnetic-thermal analysis about a stator bar model based on a real object of a North Brazilian power company applying the Finite Element Method in order to analyze the magnetic density flux and temperature distribution in steady state. Thus, the obtained results show the influence of the groundwall insulation decreasing the temperature of the system. Besides that, the subconductor insulation exhibited the highest temperatures of the stator bar. Therefore, we can use this model to simulate deformations on the insulation system, which may cause failures in the hydrogenerator.
