Popis: The use of water-containing paints has been widely done, such as in industry, painting paints, automotive paints, road marking coatings, material coatings, and so on. This type of paint uses water as a solvent. The purpose of writing this article is to find out the review of chemistry, manufacturing methods, and the effect of paints on the environment. The method used in this study was to review literatur to obtain data on water-containing paints. In analyzing the article, it was found that the manufacturing method of making water-containing paints begins with the grinding of pigments with a mixture of water, ammonia, dispersants and extenders, besides that the manufacture of water-containing paints also has several paint formulations such as paint formulations using waste pigments TiO2, CO, all-acrylic resins and others. Likewise with the environmental effects of using water-containing paints, for example reducing VOC levels, reducing the level of stench and health problems, and of course being environmentally friendly.
