Popis:	In an article in this Review ("Pragmatism, Utilitarianism and the Quest for a Discipline of Political Judgment"), Charles W. Anderson traces two philosophical roots to political judgment. One is utilitarian? ism, which focuses on outcomes; it has become the principal methodol? ogy of econometricians and theoretical economists. The other is prag? matism, which focuses on process; it has become the principal methodology of both institutional economics and political science and is becoming increasingly dominant in economic development. This is a case study of a pragmatically rooted effort to harmonize an economic project with environmental protection.
