Features of combustion of polymethyl methacrylate compositions with some phosphoric acid esters

Popis: A study was made of features of combustion of PMMA compositions with two pairs of phosphates—tris-(2-chloroethyl) phosphate with tris-(1-methyl-2-chloroethyl) phosphate and phenyl-bis-(2-chloroethyl) phosphate with phenyl-bis-(1-methyl-2-chloroethyl) phosphate. It was shown that the fire-extinguishing action of fire-proofing agents is determined not only by the overall content of phosphorus and halogen, but also the chemical structure of phosphates, which has a marked effect on thermal decomposition and on behaviour in the flame.
