Scientific literature shows a very limited empirical evidence that address the relationship between capital structure and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) adoption, therefore, this empirical study aimed to examine the relationship between capital structure decisions and ICTs adoption in Mexican and Colombian SMEs, and compare with a multigroup analysis this relationship between both Latin American countries. Based on a sample of 320 SMEs, a Partial Least Squares Structural Equations Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied to assess the structural model as a hierarchical component model. The results allow us to infer that capital structure has a predictive power on the ICTs adoption of small business in Mexico and Colombia. In the same vein, the findings indicate that capital structure has a positive and significant effect on ICTs adoption, both in Mexican and Colombian firms. On the other hand, it was not found any significant difference between the Mexican and Colombian firms. |
