Popis: 1. 1. On the basis of electrophoretic analysis, high serum globulin/ albumin ratios have been found in young Crocodilia. 2. 2. Although electrophoretic patterns of young alligator, crocodile and caiman serum resemble one another in that the major component represents an α-globulin, the serum pattern of caiman distinctly differs from those of alligator and crocodile. 3. 3. The differences seen in caiman can be interpreted at this time in two ways: it reflects the presence in caiman of either varying amounts of an albumin with relatively slow mobility and an electrophoretically fast pre-albumin or relatively low amounts of albumin and varying amounts of two electrophoretically distinguishable α-globulins.
