Popis: The thematic approach is promising he climate in United States schools has changed considerably since the days when gumchewing and running in the halls were the major problems. Social, political, economic, and technological changes have dramatically altered the classroom environment, as well as the mathematics skills needed to succeed in an increasingly quantitative society. How have the general-mathematics pro grams in our high schools adapted to these changes? What can be done to retool the general mathematics curriculum?
