| Popis: | Allen Schwenk (schwenk@wmich.edu) received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Caltech where he won the E. T. Bell Undergraduate Research Prize. He earned his Ph.D. degree at the University of Michigan. Before coming to Western Michigan University in 1985, he taught at the U.S. Naval Academy for nine years and had several visiting positions. He and his wife Pat have three grown children: a daughter, a son, and a Canadian. He enjoys bicycling when he isn't playing duplicate bridge. He still remembers how to solve Rubik'sCube, and the Schwenk Number of Paul Erd6s is 1. |
