This paper is a tribute to the research we completed with John Moulder before his untimely death in January 1998. With John, we had undertaken a rigorous research program for the purpose of advancing signal processing techniques of eddy-current data. Even though this program was still young, significant results were obtained. In this paper we describe two of the projects, both of which involve data collected from nuclear steam generator tubes with eddy-current measurements. The first project discussed involved the restoration of two-dimensional data for the purpose of increasing the resolution of eddy- current images. The second project was concerned with the creation of a software package that could automatically detect flaws in one-dimensional eddy current data. |
