Popis: | The Single European Market (the world's largest) is necessary to stabilize and increase Europe's economic weight in competition to the USA and Japan, as over the last years Europe and the USA have grown slower and lost markets to Japan. The keys to success are information technology, new materials, biotechnology, supported by vigorous Research and Development and an innovative climate. The success of the EC depends, therefore, not on protectionism, which would ultimately hurt the Community itself, but on more efforts, including top management, high investment and availability of venture capital, being devoted to the aforementioned areas. Conceived as an ambitious and dynamic process the Europe of the 12 must remain open to new competition and new members alike. |
