Popis: | The Nusselt solution for laminar film condensation on a vertical plate with upward vapor flow is reviewed, with comments on the nature of the condensate flow. The same laminar film condensation problem is considered for the case of upward vapor flow in the inside of a vertical tube, in which case the decrease in the steam flow rate due to the condensation produces a reduction in the shear stress which supports the condensate layer. A numerical solution of the problem is then required and results are given for specific cases to illustrate the method of the calculation and to indicate the nature of the condensation process in the vertical tube. These cases involve both upward and downward flow of the condensate. |
