In this paper, the bacterial foraging optimization (BFO) method is developed to track the Global Maximum Power Point (GMPP) of a partially shaded PV system for a standalone PV system. This heuristic method emulates the behavior of E.coli bacteria and can be used to solve various complex problems. Voltage and current measured data are used as input to evaluate the operation point of the PV system and the BFO method can reach the GMPP within an appropriate time. Simulation results confirm the performance of the BFO method for GMMPT for different partial shading profiles of a PV system. |
