Popis: | The prices of photovoltaic panels have decreased rapidly in recent years while the prices for inverters have decreased at a slower rate. This causes a situation where the economically optimal ratio between the solar panel and inverter power for new installations changes in time. A setup with lower inverter power was proposed in this paper to avoid overinvesting in grid-tied inverters or increasing the grid connection of a system. The aim of the research was to determine the economically optimal ratio between photovoltaic panels and inverters at different price levels. A lower inverter power has also the side effect to mitigate the output power fluctuations of photovoltaic power stations. The analysis with real world data showed that in particular cases the rated inverter power for a solar panel array can be decreased down to 40% without increasing the system's payback time. The optimal inverter-sizing ratio has changed over time and it can be expected that the trend will continue in the future. |
