Popis: | A thermal desorption gas chromatographic method is applied to the sampling and analysis of airborne vinyl chloride in the workplace. Vinyl chloride is sampled to the solid adsorbent. The adsorbed compound is then thermally desorbed to a gas chromatograph for analysis. This method is safe, sensitive, convenient, and reliable. There is, however, interference from the artifact caused by water vapor adsorbed in the solid adsorbent. This interference causes problems in compound identification and analyte concentration calculation. This artifact can be eliminated entirely by the combination of water removal and a thermal focusing procedure prior to analysis. |
