Popis: | Cyclooctene reacts with CO2 on the (Lig)Ni0-system I [Lig = (cC6H11)2PCH2CH2-2-Pyridyl] to form the bicyclic complex IV containing a five-membered ring unit. Protonolysis of these complex with Et2O/HCl yields quantitatively cyclooctyl carboxylic acid V, while treatment with dilute inorganic acids causes a sequence of reactions to occur which lead to the formation of β-γ-unsaturated cyclooctenyl carboxylic acid VI (92%). |
