In the present study, we aim to identify how personality differences (Big Five) are expressed in body motion when a person speaks individually in front of a camera in a structured task and how these differences can be linked to the reported affect. We analyzed the video recordings with behavioral imaging techniques that test frame-by-frame differences to create body motion patterns (using Motion Energy Analysis (“MEA”), see Ramseyer, 2019; 2020; Tschacher et al., 2018). Individual self-organization, given by temporal patterns extracted from body movement, will be measured with nonlinear time-series analysis, particularly Recurrence Quantification Analysis. In addition, we examine whether personality differences are associated with differences in full body movement as they may convey task-relevant information. |
