Popis: The Wisconsin AIAA chapter has leveraged the talent of its members to provide a variety of outreach opportunities for precollege aged students. Learn how a high powered rocket was configured with telemetry capability for real-time tracking, recovery and analysis of flight data. Global positioning satellite capability was engineered into the rocket design for locating sounding rockets upon water recovery touchdown. Engineering techniques were developed by AIAA aerospace professionals and made part of a High Altitude Research STEM Vehicle to provide a unique opportunity for students to learn meaningful hands-on design and flight experience. The rocket vehicle was part of a sounding rocket test flight over Lake Michigan’s FAA cleared airspace launched from Spaceport Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
