Popis: | This essay traces the history of a number of major afforestation programmes that were carried out from the late 19th and early 20th century. At the time trees were planted on the steep slopes for landslide protection. In the meantime, the resulting forests are perceived as natural monuments and as such worthy of conservation. The achievement of the foresters who planned and carried out the afforestation process deserve our full approbation today. |
