Popis: | A model of the thermoelectric eddy currents occurring in the electron beam and laser welding of two dissimilar metals is presented, based on irreversible thermodynamics. The distribution of eddy currents and the magnetic field generated are computed and the resulting deflection of the electron beam is calculated, approximately. The model predicts large thermoelectric currents in the workpiece and a deflection of the electron beam that is in good agreement with experiment. |
