Popis: The purpose of this study is to investigate realities of and problems from history education which makes an inevitable influence on newly joined military personnel; and to promote historical consciousness for soldiers of new generation by compensating military history education linked with school education. In specific, it is our mission to maintain more interest in history and establish correct view of it today when highly-elated wars on history exist including China``s Northeast Project, Japan``s distorting contemporary history, and even depreciating and disparaging remarks on modern Korean history from the inside of Korea. Moreover, this is the time when more determined and correct view of history should be obtained to recover national homogeneity and to fully achieve integration in the near future on the road of unification. Given that this is necessary, this study suggests several plans to improve historical consciousness of new generation such as instructional methodology, ideas of developing teaching materials, history education based on hands-on experience, and teaching love of the country. However, the way of how to educate and the scope and limits about history have not been completed yet in the field of history education. One thing for sure is that it is required to implement history education in the long term, balanced not far from any particular logic or the current of the times. In particular, it is essential to build up a calm and steady view of history and view of the country in any given situation, specially in the army to maintain ``spiritual combat power``, capable of mission.
