Bivalves Abra prismatica (Montagu, 1808) and Gari fervensis (Gmelin, 1791)—Species new to the fauna of the Russian sector of the Barents Sea

Popis:	Abra prismatica (Montagu, 1808) and Gari fervensis (Gmelin, 1791) were found in the Russian sector of the Barents Sea in 2008–2010 for the first time. These data allowed us to propose the expansion of their geographical range by at least 300 km to the east. Such a range expansion is probably preconditioned by the current warming trend observed for the Murman coast of the Barents Sea. The biology, ecology, and life cycle of both species are discussed. We suggest that the life cycle of A. prismatica has changed in the northern part of its geographic range.
