Popis:	Premature aging is the earlier than expected onset of age-related deterioration of the physiological functions necessary for the survival and fertility of an organism. Human aging is a polygenic and multifactorial process. However, sometimes the mutation of one or more genes can accelerate the aging process, leading to premature aging syndromes (PMAS). The mutant genes that lead to PMAS are all genes essential for DNA metabolism and/or the maintenance of genomic integrity.
