The cultural potential of the territories is expressed in their historical heritage, through which, most of the tourist destinations are concerned with their history as a factor to attract tourist flows and as a result unleashes in familiarity with the immaterial expressions of the sites enriching the spiritual and cognitive world of the human being. Within this framework, the city of Latacunga has the “La Mama Negra” parade party (declared Cultural Heritage of Ecuador (INPC 20102d)), which although it is true, the holiday has two periods of realization defined in the calendar in the months of September and November, the citizens of Latacunga city have been subject to a world of relevance rooted in their traditions, customs and festivities, witnessing the deterioration of the “Mama Negra” of november due to modernism factors, changes in public administrations, among others , causing a disagreement of the population with the parade. It is therefore, that the present investigation makes reference to the problematic that causes the degradation of the identity of the “Mama Negra” party and its influence on the acceptance and interest of the citizens of Latacunga with the festivity. For the research a survey of information was carried out to the citizens and at the same time methods of approaches were used; quantitative, documentary, field, non-experimental, cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and correlational levels. Thus, it was shown that the “Mama Negra” is the most representative party in the city, which is why the citizens have identified with it, but at the same time it showed the loss of interest towards the holiday among people from 21 to 29 years due to factors such as excessive alcohol consumption, uncontrolled fun and insecurity and finally most citizens have not participated in the parades parading through the canton. |
